[POST-EVENT UPDATE] The Rested Revolution community raised a total of $860.00 collectively through this Pay What You Can event where we meditated, moved and mindfully went within to become more nourished, healed and rested versions of ourselves. 100% of these proceeds have now been processed and donated to the COVID-19 Emergency Funds for DTES organized by Rianne Svelnis. Thank you to everyone who supported the first community event. We are so grateful to learn and rest together.
In collaboration with Corina Santema of co gro coaching, we warmly invite you to join us for a one day facilitator-guided and self-led, virtual silent meditation retreat. We will begin this day with a gesture of respect and peace in acknowledging that our facilitators are gathering for this event from our respective homes on unceded territories and ancestral homelands of the Coast Salish peoples–Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) and Kwikwetlem Nations who have known, occupied and protected this land since time immemorial, modernly referred to as Vancouver, Squamish and Coquitlam in British Columbia, Canada. Unceded means that this land was never surrendered, relinquished or handed over in any way, and remains, in current day, a violent legacy and the marginalization of First Nations people. I take this moment of silence to acknowledge, appreciate and pay respect to the land which we currently work, live and play on these stolen lands from the First Nations people who have lived here for thousands of years before the first settlers arrived. We hope that the positive intentions we have and the work we do here today can then feedback into these lands that support us everyday.
